Meet the Artisans: The Hands Behind Country Road

We are the founders, creative directors, and master restorers of Country Road Gallery.

Our journey began with a shared obsession: rescuing historical furniture, honouring centuries-old craftsmanship, and transforming tired antiques into striking statement pieces. After years refining our eye in Ontario’s competitive design market, we followed our hearts to rural Nova Scotia — and found the ultimate canvas for our work inside a magnificent historic church.

Today that sacred space serves as our workshop, production house, and creative sanctuary.

Our Philosophy: Artistry Over Ordinary

We do not simply “paint furniture.” We curate, re-engineer, and elevate global antiquities and vintage masterworks into functional fine art for modern, sophisticated interiors.

Our process is rigorous and deeply respectful of history:

•  The Sourcing
We hunt across the country for rare silhouettes, architectural fragments, and structural gems with undeniable soul.

•  The Preservation
Whether stabilizing 19th-century mortise-and-tenon joinery or hand-waxing an original Imperial oxblood lacquer skin, we protect authentic heritage first.

•  The Transformation
We draw inspiration from global design movements — from the dramatic textures of Moody Maximalism and Dark Academia to the sleek lines of mid-century modern and Hollywood Regency. Every custom patina, hand-blended ombré, and hand-applied metal leaf detail is executed meticulously by our own hands.

From Our Studio to Your Home

Because true artistry knows no geographic boundaries, we operate as a fully digital, nationwide design house. While our hands are in the workshop here in Nova Scotia, our pieces anchor luxury homes, boutique commercial spaces, and interior design projects in Halifax, Toronto, Montreal, and beyond.

We believe that the furniture you bring into your home should tell an unforgettable story. Thank you for trusting us with the next chapter of that story.
